Welcome back ForceMerge() AKA MultiCube()!

I have always been a big fan of the MultiCube() function that is available in Desktop Intelligence. I can still remember the first time I learned about the function. A colleague of mine at that time was struggling with a report with multiple data providers he had built. He was really annoyed, because he couldn’t get the measures to aggregate properly. Which is exactly the purpose of this function, so when he found out about the (proper) use of the function he was really excited he could make it work after all.

  In 1999, although trained as an economist and marketeer, I started working with an application called Crystal Reports (I don't even remember the version). I realised then that what I wanted to be was a, even though I don't think the term was already coined back then, Business Intelligence specialist.

  Over the years my training and experience has amassed and expanded into various fields of expertise and technologies. I am currently working as a BI consultant and trainer for IIPS with a focus on SAP Business Objects, IBM Cognos and Microsoft SQL Server technology.

  I am particularly interested in the technical aspects of Business Intelligence, i.e. how to implement and deliver a well performing BI solution, and not so much how to get it right from a business perspective.
