They say of the Acropolis, where the Parthenon is…

So, what is it they’re saying? :P

The Truth About Food

I still had some stuff on my hard disk recorder waiting for me to watch, so, since I arrived home relatively early from work today, I decided to watch two episodes of the The Truth About Food. I’d already watched a few a while back and thought they were quite interesting (BBC quality). As were these – it gave me some new insights into my diet.

Smurfs wars

Nice little sketches of smurfs together with a synopsys.

Heroes: series 2 has begon

Yay, I’ve just downloaded the first episode of the second series of Heroes. This week I’m in a hotel for a few days, because my client is a few hours drive from here – which will give me plenty of time to watch. Yay!

Cinema time!

Tonight I’m going to the cinema to watch the latest episode of Harry Potter. The critics seem to be fairly positive, so I’m kind of looking forward to it. Especially because I’m having sushi at Genki-Tei first.

Quite soon the Simpsons film will be released as well. Even though I’m not a big fan I do tend to chuckle when I watch an episode, so I’m inclined to go and see it. The website is pretty cool as well, especially because you can recreate yourself as a Simpson character. Mine is not so great, but my friend Martijn’s is pretty darn close to his real-life appearance.

I can hardly stand the tension: Harry te estamos esperando!

A few months ago I was looking for an article that I could use as an excercise for my second year Spanish students here in Leiden at the university. Now, having lived in England for many years I have developed a great fondness for and just as much appreciation of the quality of the programmes and news services of the BBC. Luckily they have also got a Spanish version of their news website: BBC Mundo. I came across this article and adapted it to something I could use on my students. I came across it today, while I was tidying (the semester has finished) and it makes me realise that the date is getting quite near.

First we’ll all be able to go and see the new film on the 13th July and then one week later on the 21st we can buy the new book! I am already starting to look really forward to both occasions. As a matter of fact, I have reread all of the previous volumes over the last two weeks to be able to enjoy even better this last volume. Am I being silly? Perhaps. There’s probably loads of people out there that can’t stand this little magician but I”m a big fan.

Only three more seasons to go

Twee weeks ago it was, I think, that I watched the last lost episode of the season, or rather two last episodes – since it was a mega-two-part episode. I’ve been following the serie since its beginning and must admit that I really like it. My only fear was that it was going to drag on until forever – sort of the same debacle as with the X-Files or Twin Peaks, but following recent reports it is going to end in 2010. Alas and finally are the words that came to my mind at the same time.

I love food

And when I say I love food, I really mean I LOVE food. Man, if I didn’t do sports at least four times a week I would have resembled Billy Bunter by now. As a matter of fact, not too long ago, when I stopped exercising for a while, I actually began to look like him a little bit too much.

Anyway, with my trip to New York starting in a couple of days I can’t help stop thinking of food. There are so many favourite place I just have to visit and then there are always new ones waiting to be discovered. The ones I simply have to visit (because of previous experiences) are:

And then some more. What’s up with all these crappy websites by the way? It seems that there aren’t any restaurants out there that want to invest time and money to at least put up something decent (although I already knew that of course, a weblog I read quite regularly – in Dutch – had noticed the same thing some time ago). Cafe Lalo is quite famous by the way for its appearance in the film You’ve Got Mail, where it stars quite prominantly in a scene. Right, now I’m off to make some food myself. Have a nice weekend y’all.
