New York, New York

Start spreadin’ the news, I’m leaving today
I want to be a part of it: New York, New York.

About two weeks ago I decided to take a short break in March of this year. This last week I then finally managed to find some time to speak to my friend Martijn and book a flight to New York (which is where he lives – sort of).

It will be fifth or sixth time that I’m visiting New York. The first time was when I myself was still living in the States and the following visits have always been a combination of visiting Martijn, acting the typical tourist and having, what has grown to become, my annual shopping spree.

Last year I unfortunately didn’t have time to go out there – due to the fact that I was living in Spain – but the year before that we had a blast venturing out of the city and visiting some wineries in Long Island - a nice region – about an hour away from the city - with its beaches, woods and of course the Hampton’s. Anyway, since we enjoyed the Long Island wines very much, we decided to visit another area this time: the Finger Lakes in New York state. Read more
