Updated to WordPress 2.8

I just updated to the latest and greatest version of WordPress, version 2.8, i.e. Baker. Here’s a nice overview of the latest additions. One of the new features I really like is the ability to load JavaScript in the footer of your theme.

Focus

Microsoft has finally decided what to do with PerformancePoint Planning

A while back Microsoft created quite a stir in the BI scene when they announced that they would stop further development of PerformancePoint Server 2007. At the time I was studying for the exam and, as you can imagine, was pretty pissed off (and stopped any further preparations for the exam immediately). The analytics part was swiftly moved to SharePoint and what was to become of the Planning part was unknown, until now.

One thing that might be confusing about using the Web Intelligence Rich Client

With the arrival of BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.0 the ability to view documents via a so-called Rich Client has been added to the suite. While the Rich Client might appear to be nothing more than a full client version (it requires a separate installation) of the Java version of Web Intelligence in InfoView, it does in fact have certain features that are not available in thin client version.
