More than a box of screw bolts

Most computer geeks have got some sort of drawer with screw bolts to mount computer parts. That way one is never without the right bolt when needed. Nexus sells en pimped version of such a drawer, aiming at those that want to keep their computers quiet. The Nexus Anti Vibration Mounting Kit is a plastic box with compartments, in which several different materials for attaching hardware are stored. In total there are about sixty materials in the box. Quite useful.

  In 1999, although trained as an economist and marketeer, I started working with an application called Crystal Reports (I don't even remember the version). I realised then that what I wanted to be was a, even though I don't think the term was already coined back then, Business Intelligence specialist.

  Over the years my training and experience has amassed and expanded into various fields of expertise and technologies. I am currently working as a BI consultant and trainer for IIPS with a focus on SAP Business Objects, IBM Cognos and Microsoft SQL Server technology.

  I am particularly interested in the technical aspects of Business Intelligence, i.e. how to implement and deliver a well performing BI solution, and not so much how to get it right from a business perspective.
